Similar to cats and dogs, birds, other exotic pets and large animals benefit from regular veterinary care to help them live a long, healthy and happy life. Our veterinarian who cares for exotic and large animals is trained in the unique care needs and veterinary treatment of these species.
During your pet's initial wellness visit, our veterinarian will review your pet's nutrition, housing and care with you, then perform a complete physical exam. Health screening tests and vaccines will be discussed and recommended when applicable.
Our vet will also discuss any health, behavior or husbandry concerns with you and answer any inquiries you might have. Recommendations will be customized to your pet's and family's needs.
- Sick Pet Appointments & Daytime Emergencies
Our hospital is fully equipped to meet the needs of critically ill exotic pets and large animals. Emergency Services is staffed by a veterinarian, registered veterinary technicians, and support staff.
Our veterinarian can see birds, other exotic pets and large animals with health or behavior concerns. Please call (229) 435-1431 ahead to determine when our exotic and large animal veterinarian is available.
While we do accept walk-in and work-in emergencies for exotic pets during our business hours, there may be an additional fee if appointments are double-booked. We only offer emergency services on weekends for life-threatening situations.
- After Hours Emergencies
We offer Emergency Services on weekends specifically for life-threatening situations. Otherwise, we serve patients during our business hours. Please call in advance to find out if our Emergency Service veterinarian is able to evaluate your exotic pet or large animal.
